What is Arca

Arca is a personal finance app you run on your own computer or home server. It tells you what’s safe to spend today, what’s coming up, and where your money went.

Arca’s Home page: safe to spend, this month in numbers and the budget

Most money apps show you everything at once. Arca starts with one answer: how much can I still spend this period without getting into trouble? Everything else (budgets, bills, the forecast) feeds that answer, and is there when you want to look closer.

Safe to spend

Your budget, minus what you've spent, minus the bills still to come.

That's the whole sum. Home shows it with the numbers underneath, so you never have to wonder where it comes from.

  • Home: safe to spend, this month’s money in and out, what’s coming up and your accounts.
  • Activity: every transaction, searchable, with splits, receipts, shared costs and transfers.
  • Plan: your budget, debts and savings goals.
  • Insights: any period in numbers, trends, net worth, a cash-flow forecast and a health score.
  • Getting transactions in: a bank connection for Dutch banks, or CSV import for any bank.

Arca is made for people who like to keep their own data at home, on a NAS, an Unraid server or any machine that runs Docker. You don’t need to be a developer: if you can add a container, you can run Arca.

  • Your data stays with you. Everything lives in one folder on your server. There’s no Arca cloud and no account with us.
  • For the whole household. Several people can sign in to the same household and share accounts, budgets and goals.
  • Works on your phone. Arca adapts to small screens and can be added to your home screen like an app.

Ready to try it? Install Arca with Docker, Docker Compose or Unraid.
