Goals
Plan → Goals helps you save towards something (a buffer, a holiday, a new laptop) and shows the month you get there.
Two kinds of goal
Section titled “Two kinds of goal”- Savings goal: an amount you want to have.
- Budget goal: a cap on what you spend in one category.
Add a goal
Section titled “Add a goal”Use the + add menu → Goal, or start from a suggestion: Emergency buffer, Holiday or New laptop. Use this fills in a name, icon and colour; change anything before you save.
Fill in:
- Name, icon and colour.
- Target amount and what you already have (Starting balance).
- How much you put aside and how often you save: weekly, monthly or yearly.
- Optionally a Category, a Start date and an End date. With an end date, Arca works out how much you need to save each time.
Saving towards it
Section titled “Saving towards it”You add to a goal by linking transactions to it. Open the transaction that moved money to your savings in Activity, and pick the goal under Savings goal.
- Money going out (to savings) adds to the goal.
- Money coming back in (from savings) is taken off it.
The Contributions chart shows twelve months of what you put aside, with this month as the bright bar.
When you get there
Section titled “When you get there”Open a goal for its history and the month you reach it at your current pace: “At €150 a month you reach €3,000 in June 2027”. Without a regular amount there’s no date yet. Once the target is reached, it says when.
